• Ireland’s Cricketers reach 2015 World Cup

Kevin O'Brien Cricket World Cup 2015Ireland’s cricket team, once maligned as an under performing punch bag to the established cricketing nations, have once again shown just how far they have come by becoming the first nation to qualify for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, to be hosted jointly by Australia and New Zealand.

Today’s match against the Netherlands turned out to be a thrilling affair that ended in a tie but this was enough for Ireland to book their place on the plane down under.

Following one of his less productive days at the stumps Kevin O’Brien, a BSMG client showcased his full skillset by taking 3 wickets today, helping his team, along with strong innings from brother Niall (50),  Paul Stirling (46), William Porterfield (30) and a superb 96 from Ed Joyce.

Making this Ireland’s third consecutive appearance at Cricket’s World Cup finals and tenth title in 6 years at Associate level, this is certainly an Irish team that is going from strength to strength.

A big congratulations to Kevin and his teammates on another fantastic achievement from all at BSMG.
