• Leamy calls time on a glittering career

    May 2012 saw another of Ireland’s rugby heroes, Denis Leamy, call time on a truly glittering career both in the green of Ireland and the red of Munster.

    Leamy has long been troubled with a hip injury and this week the sad news that he was retiring from rugby with immediate effect. Capped 57 times for Ireland and 144 for his beloved Munster, Leamy played in two World Cups, won two Heineken Cups, two Triple Crowns and was part of the 2009 6 Nations Grand Slam team.
