On December 8th 2012, exciting young Irish goalkeeper Niall Burdon put pen to paper, signing for Irish Premier League side Shelbourne FC. The 19 year old is the product of the academy set up at Stade Rennais, France’s number one academy.
With dual Irish and French citizenship, Niall has many options open to him and the start of his career has seen him learn his trade with one of France’s top tier teams. Niall became a regular within the reserve team and has now been given the opportunity to advance hi career further within one of Ireland’s top Irish footballing outfits.
Capped at U-17 and U-19 for Ireland it is clear that Niall is an exciting prospect with a bright future ahead of him. At 19, he has the youth. At 6’3″ he has the presence between the posts. Now at Shelbourne FC he will have the chance to make that push for his place as a regular on the first team and then hopefully stake his claim for the national jersey for Ireland.
Best of Luck Niall from all at BSMG
