    Ireland’s most capped scrum-half. Capped five times at Ireland U21 level and susequently 91 times at senior international level. Won the first of his 172 Munster caps in November 1998 played in three Heineken finals scoring the crucial try in the 2006 win over Biarritz Olympique and was on the bench for the 2008 final.

    Mid way through the 2011/12 season he accepted short term contracts first with Saracens and then Newcastle Falcons where he ended that season. He has since returned back to the Munster fold.

    Just one of nine players to have earned 200+ caps for Munster. He made his debut against Ulster and won his 100 and 200th caps against the northern side.

    In December 2011 Stringer joined English Premiership side Saracens on loan. He wasted no time, scoring his first try for the club in January 2012.

    February 2012 saw another loan move to Newcastle, another Premiership side, until the end of the 2012 season. Appearing only 5 times for the side, he showed his worth by scoring a try on his final appearance during a relegation decider against London Wasp, a game Newcastle won 14-10.

    January 2013 saw another move for Stringer, this time with English Premiership side Bath. This was another loan move that would eventually see him cut ties with Munster and sign a one year contract with the English side. He extended this by another one year contract in March 2014.

    In May 2015 Stringer moved again, this time to Sale Sharks, his current club, where he signed a one year contract. Now aged 38, Stringer is one of the oldest professionals in the game but still manages to maintain supreme fitness and skill, traits that he has been recognised for throughout his career.
