Ireland’s hurdling starlet Sarah Lavin has had a remarkable year. 2013 has seen her win silver medal in the 100m hurdles at the European Junior Track and Field Championships in Rieti, Italy. She also lowered the national junior 100m hurdles record to a time of 13.34 seconds. Lavin was the worthy recipient of Junior Athlete of the Year. On a special day for Lavin her coach Noelle Morrissey was the winner of the Coach of the Year award.
With 2013 coming to an end and 2014 just around the corner, much is expected of Sarah and her coach Noelle as they look to take women’s hurldes to the next level in Ireland. Sarah has already announced herself to the international field and 2014 is surely going to be the breakout year for Ireland’s next big thing in Irish athletics.
